The area is located near the train station in Litomyšl, which is a very cultural and progressive city. Our aim was to create a community space that combines different social groups, namely students, public and craftsmen. The project guides you by continuing the train track through "tunnel" via the pink line across the complex, you encounter different atmospheres such as education, crafts, entertainment and skateboarders. At the centre of the project is a roof structure that offers a versatile space in which outdoor workshops are designed, these can be dismantled and relocated, in summer cultural events and workshops can be held here. The aim of the project was to combine different building typologies such as school, dormitory, rental housing and workshops, into a coherent concept.
The former granary provides rental housing for young people, craftsmen, artists and teachers who come to the city to create. The conversion of an industrial building provides duplex apartments and a café on the ground floor.
The expansion of the Faculty of Restoration, with a building dedicated to wood restoration with the possibility of working both inside and outside, is an essential part of the project. A high school dormitory building is also part of the proposal, bringing life to the site. Řememysl combines modern education, community activities, and the restoration of historic structures, strengthening cultural and social ties in the city. The clubhouse offers residents a space for cultural events, workshop activities and exhibitions. At the same time, it preserves the historical character of the heating plant, providing a unique meeting place for the inhabitants of Litomysl.
