As a part of my semester work, I dealt with the world of workshop furniture and I will focus specifically on the challenge associated with designing a joiner's planer. This role presents a challenge and reflects that high quality furniture can shape and enrich a space, especially in an educational context.
The inspiration for this design was the experience of an artistic carver who currently works with a plane that does not adequately reflect the needs of users. This situation motivated me to explore how to combine technical functionality with aesthetics to create a design that will reflect this.
My planer design is aimed at educational centers and schools and aims not only to provide an efficient working tool, but also an aesthetically appealing element that increases the attractiveness of joinery. My main goal is to create an environment that supports learning and creativity.
That's why I chose an approach using electric sliding bases, which not only provide flexibility in work, but also bring a modern design element. During creating of the design, I actively collaborated with a joiner's and an artistic carver, who provided me with valuable opinions and technical know-how. Their expert advice was key to achieving harmony between aesthetics and practicality. I believe that this planer concept will bring a new dimension to educational spaces and will be an inspiration to all who want to explore the world of woodworking.
