The busy V Botanice street (from now on, Botanka) was once home to a botanical garden. Today, it is
one of the busiest traffic routes in Prague. The heavy traffic diminishes the quality of public space in
Botanka and its immediate surroundings. Process explores where the housing crisis could lead and
where it should move forward. The solution extends above the road, creating an additional space for
housing. Therefore, I am building on both sides of the street while also bridging over it. Housing in
Botanka improves not only the public space of the street but also its surroundings. The project
connects Portheimka Park and Arbesovo Náměstí through shared courtyards, revitalizing the space
around the KB building with its future reuse in mind.
The space cannot be defined by the road; instead, the space must define the road.
I adapt to what could happen and where the housing crisis might lead in the future.
